June Flops (aka Dynasty Cream Does the Devil's Work)

Image
So this is my second "June" post... staring the flops that disappointed me and a hateful little cream that ruined my skin. In this batch of things I hate, we have Nip+Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Serum, CosRX Low ph Good Morning Gel Cleanser, and  Devil Dynasty Cream from Beauty of Joseon. Nip+Fab | Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Serum I usually like dragon's blood items. They tend to be really calming on my skin and I like the smell. So, this item featuring dragons blood WITH hyaluronic acid (which I also love) seemed like it was gonna be a good deal. Hell no. This, I liked the smell. That was about it. Within seconds everything became a sticky mess and started burning. Like, "Oh my god I need to go scrub this off immediately!" level burning .  And it felt like gum on my face. This is nasty. Please people, don't buy this. I hate this, and that's all I have to say. CosRX | Good Morning Gel Low pH Cleanser This is...

June Favorites

Image
So this month on top of my favorites of the month, I'm going to add some things that I thought were either ineffective or on a mission to kill my skin.  I'm gonna do this is two parts so it's not a big novel. We will start with the positive faves in this post. This month's top three: Elizavecca's Hell Pore Clean Up Mask, It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact, and Too Faced Love Light highlighter. Hell Pore Clean Up Mask | Elizavecca Touted on the internet as "World's most painful mask," I agree that ths mask does hurt like hell when you pull it off. But it's totally worth it, when a certain item I will mention later basically destroyed my skin into a gross mess. It has the whole gimmick of being able to pull it off and see tons of little things like blackheads and sebaceous filaments hanging out. But this really does clean out some major gunk and leaves skin soft as it also pulls off dead cells. This has been a staple in my stash ...

May Favorites

So this is a new thing I'm going to be doing! Here are 3 things I loved this month. Maybe I'll do more in the future, cause sometimes it is hard to pick out the best of the best when I've been trying lots of new things. Here we go ~ Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara | Too Cool for School Firstly, I'm a dinosaur freak. So that was pretty much the only reason why I bought this product to begin with. But it's actually a very good little mascara. The key feature here is the top of the dial turns to adjust the brush. So you can space the bristles out based on whatever look you are going for. I found for me the closer the bristles the better. Apparently there is another dinoplatz mascara called twisty tail - which of course I'm planning to try. Foreo  | Luna Mini This is a bad ass little cleansing tool. I had thought about getting something like a clarisonic but I've heard so many people saying they were too abrasive and expensice to upkeep. S...

Return from Hiatus and RIP Memebox

Image
So I'm trying to return from my little unplanned hiatus... I had a lot of life stuff going on! So now that things are settling down again I'm going to try to start posting at least once a week. I also deleted some posts I wrote that I wasn't too happy with as far as quality. Spring cleaning I guess! Another thing, I have always bought 99% of my products through Memebox, which low key died at the end of April. Now it's just some dumb ass little site that takes you to Amazon to buy it somewhere else. Now I have to decide where I want to start ordering products from... Which looks like it's gonna be Jolse. I mean we knew Memebox was on it's way out because they couldn't keep up with demand. Plus those sales one after the other! They were just clearing house without being upfront about it. So in short, RIP Memebox and expect more posts from me soon! :)

Pony Effect Stay Put Eyesticks

Image
Today's review will be on the Pony Effect Stay Put Eyesticks. These are handy little stick eyeshadows that are meant for long wear. They are also thin enough you can use them as eyeliner with a careful hand. I have 4 colors, 1 matte and 3 shimmers. I find that the shimmer ones are a little more blendable. Once they dry, they do not budge at all. This means you must work quickly while using them. They are great for all day wear, and I haven't had any creasing issues with these. I have also tried using these as a base before powder eyeshadow, and they help the colors pop! And they do beef up the staying time a good bit. Vixen is the least bendable shade for some reason, it's the only one I've had trouble blending out. And Ducky is a bit too light for me, but this is not really a quality issue with the product. I plan to pick up a few more of these, because they are so handy! They are great if you're busy and on the go, and the sticks are good quality. I...

Gudetama Lazy and Easy All In One Master by Holika Holika

Image
Today's review will be over the super cute and super useful essence featuring Gudetama! Obviously my favorite part of this product is the packaging, which is in a cute stumpy little orange bottle with gudetama picking his nose (I think) on the front. However, don't let the cute package fool you. This is a very good essence to add to your skincare arsenal. The claims for this product is that is supposed to be an all-in-one: toner, essence, and serum in one easy product. I have been using this as my essence step at night. For in the morning, I use just this after rinsing with warm water. so far, so good. This essence has a light herbal scent and applies very smoothly. It dries down with no stickiness. It is about medium in hydration, so if you have oily skin it may not be best to stack a lot of other products on top of this little guy. I have been in love with this essence since I started using it, and this is definitely on my repurchase list.

Gem Miracle Diamond Lifting Toner - The Saem

Image
Today's review will be on a new toner I am trying the Gem Miracle Diamond Lifting Toner by the Saem. This whole product line comes in absolutely gorgeous purple bottles. please ignore my terribly chipped nail polish today, just look at how pretty this bottle is. The toner is a consistency thicker than water, with small amounts of shimmer in the product. Luckily, the shimmer doesn't really show up on your face, so you can use this for daytime and not look like a fairy exploded on your face. It has a sweet floral scent and dries down quickly. It is thicker than water and it takes two pumps to do my whole face. It does provide a decent amount of hydration The major claim of this product is to improve v-line, which is a face shape with a slim jawline coming to a pointed chin. I haven't seen any improvement on that end from this toner. I also will be testing and reviewing the cream and serum from this line which i think will probably be more potent in effect than ...

Maybelline Dream Cushion

Image
So today's cushion is not a Korean or Asian cuhiom... its Maybelline! I wanted to try out this one and see how it compares to my normal Korean ones. I have previously tried the L'oreal Lumi cushion, but couldn't find a decent match. that, and the product dried up very fast, almost like the case doesn't create a seal. Safe to say, I felt like the Lumi was a waste of money. The case isn't exacrly cute or eye-catching, just a basic round case with the name if the product and shade on the front.

Lazy & Easy Gudetama All Kill Oil to Foam Cleanser by Holika Holika

Image
Today's review will be about the Lazy & Easy All Kill oil to foam cleanser, by Holika Holika featuring Gudetama! This is a cleanser that comes in a cute pump bottle featuring the character Gudetama. it is supposed to be an all in one cleanser, replacing your first and second cleansing steps. You can see the drops of oil floating around, and it all mixes together after you shake it up. It does remove sunscreen and most make up well, but I use a separate eye make up remover. This to me is not a deal breaker, because I find I have this problem with most cleansers when it comes to fully removing eye make up in one go. from top to bottom: pony effect stayput eyestick, benefit chacha tint, pony stay fit matte lip color, avon glimmer stick, hard candy liquid eyeliner, pony effect ink lip stain. after washing with product: only the pony eyestick and chacha tint remain.  This cleanser has a nice light fresh scent that doesn't linger and isn't overwhelming. I...

Hope Girl Magic Skin Primer

Image
Today's review will be on the Magic Skin Primer by Hope Girl! It comes in a pink and white no-mess pump bottle. It's packaged in a simple white box with metallic lettering and leopard print, which is not pictured in this post because I tossed it accidentally. This is pink-toned primer meant to brighten the complexion and provide a smooth foundation for your make up. It has a light rosy-soapy scent but I don't think it's too overpowering and fades. The finish is slightly tacky, which I don't mind. I think that helps to really hold your makeup in place. It adds about another 4 hours of wear to my makeup, and seems to have a slight amount of oil control. I like the airless pump system and that the button to squirt out product is set flush with the cap. This makes it more difficult to accidentally have it spill in your makeup bag. This is lovely primer and I see why it's so popular within the k-beauty community. I still love my Pony Effect primer more, bu...

Pony Effect Mega Curling Mascara

Image
Today's review will be on the mascara by Pony Effect, the Mega Curling Mascara! This massacre comes in a beautiful rose gold tube with the pony effect logo on the side. It's very reflective and looks wonderful sitting on your make up table.  At first I was somewhat concerned by the small brush, but wow. This is really separates the lashes and distributes an even coat with no clumps. It's also small enough that I can actually use this on my bottom lashes without looking like I had little spider legs hanging below my eyes. This stuff also does NOT come off without work. I double cleanse and some days I still need to use an eye makeup remover to get this stuff off. It actually hangs on throughout my long 12-13 hour shifts, which is great. I don't feel that it has any sort of curling effect. It just adds a nice amount of thickness and length to lashes without looking overdone. Overall I would consider buying this again, but mostly for the small brush which I...

Pony Effect Ultimate Prep Primer - Original

Image
Hello again! Today I will also be reviewing a primer by Pony Effect, the Ultimate Prep Primer. I have the original, which is geared towards those with oily skin and large pores. The product comes in a rose gold tube with black writing, very shiny and pretty. The primer is sort of pasty, but glides on so very smooth. It has a very faint, clean scent. It immediately helps to smooth out the texture of my skin. Wear wise, it helps with the application of whatever you decide to put on top of it. Also, I work 12-13 hour shifts, and I put this on under my cushion makeup. It helps my cushion stay for around 8 hours as opposed to the 5 or 6 I would get without it. It dries down silky satin, and is not sticky. As you can see, it does not really add any additional color or glow to the skin. It simply makes a nice smooth canvas for whatever comes next. Also, a little goes a long way. I simply applied extra to my hand here to show the texture. Overall I love this primer and this i...

Klairs Mochi BB Cushion

Image
Todays review will be on a BB cushion by Klairs, the Mochi BB Cushion! Taken from Wishtrend This is a cute little cushion that comes in a round white package with a little face on the outside. Inside you have a mirror that is a little smaller than what is in most cushions, but still big enough to work with. The included puff has a little face on top. A unique feature of this cushion is the closure between the puff and the actual product - instead of simply popping up, you have to twist it to unlock. I think this is a really cool feature to combat against the product drying out. The product inside only comes in one shade - an apricot shade that is intended to compliment "all skin tones" as so it advertises. However, if you are very fair or tan/darker I do not see this cushion working for you. I normally wear no. 21 in korean foundations, and this is a little darker than that but works well with my skin tone. Scent wise, it has a very light almost herbal sc...
